Argus Coaching
Tip for October 2001
In view of the tragic attacks on the U.S. on September 11, my tip to you
this month is to commit or re-commit yourself to the people and goals in
your life that are important to you.
There are so many ways in which you can do this. Some ideas:
- Call or write (maybe even a "real" letter, not email!) someone who
has influenced your life who may not know it. Let them know what
their gift means to you.
- List your top ten values and then take a look at the various areas of
your life. Where are you living your values and where are you not?
What changes will you make to incorporate your values more fully into
your daily life?
- Perform a random act of kindness. Everyone can use some right now.
- Choose one goal that you've been putting off. Maybe you're putting it
off even more now because you're feeling bogged down by the weight of
the world. Tell one or more friends or family members that you're going
to reach the goal by a specified date. Invite them to ask you on that
date if you've done so. Be sure to celebrate your accomplishment.
- If you've been thinking about doing something special for someone in
your life, but are waiting for a special occasion, do it now. If you
haven't been thinking about it, now's the time. Every day is special.
This has been a time of reflection for all of us. As we mourn the many
heroes of September 11 and its aftermath, we can do no better than to
honor them by living our lives fully and intentionally. May they rest
in peace.
With an eye on you,
Peggy
